2026 Liv Langma Advanced SL Review: Women's Race Bike Redefined
The Liv Langma Advanced SL is the top model in Liv's women's race-bike range and the official bike of WorldTeam Liv AlUla Jayco. Liv calls it the lightest, most aerodynamic and most efficient Langma it has made, and backs that with three headline claims: a 667 g frame, an 11.98% better stiffness-to-weight ratio and a 12.57 W aerodynamic gain.
This review looks at what the current Langma Advanced SL actually is, using Liv's official product pages and spec sheets, checked in October 2026. It covers the frame technology, the SL 0 and SL 1 builds, women's-specific sizing and geometry, and who the bike suits. It is a specification-based review: we have not ridden the bike, so we do not make claims about how it feels on the road.
A note on model years: as of October 2026, Liv's US site lists the SL 0 as a 2025 model, and no new frame has been announced since. The bike described here is the current generation sold into the 2026 riding season.
What the Langma is
Liv is the women's-specific brand of the Giant Group. The Langma name first appeared in 2017. Liv says it was inspired by the Tibetan name for Mount Everest and designed to push riders towards ever-greater challenges.
The Langma family is Liv's all-round road race bike, sitting between the aero-focused EnviLiv and the endurance-focused Avail. Liv sells it in three frame grades:
| Series | Frame | Fork | Seatpost |
|---|---|---|---|
| Langma Advanced SL | Advanced SL-grade composite | Advanced SL-grade composite | Variant integrated seatpost |
| Langma Advanced Pro | Advanced-grade composite | Advanced SL-grade composite | Proprietary seatpost |
| Langma Advanced | Advanced-grade composite | Advanced-grade composite | Proprietary seatpost |
The SL is the only version with the integrated seatpost and the lightest frame. It is the bike Liv supplies to its WorldTour team.
Frame technology: what Liv changed

Liv's US product page lists the key technologies of the current Langma Advanced SL:
- Advanced SL composite woven in Giant Group's own composite factory, with what Liv calls Continuous Fiber Technology.
- One-piece mold. The front triangle is now made with a single bladder instead of the previous generation's three, which Liv says reduces weight without compromising stiffness or aero shaping.
- Truncated ellipse tubing. Airfoil sections in the frame and fork, developed with CFD and wind-tunnel testing, which Liv says reduce drag across a wide range of yaw angles compared with traditional teardrop tubes.
- Internal cable routing through the frame, handlebar and stem.
- OverDrive Aero. A D-shaped fork steerer and matching spacers that route the brake and derailleur lines internally.
- MegaDrive. An oversized, rectangular down tube and top tube for front-end lateral and torsional stiffness.
- PowerCore. An 86 mm-wide bottom bracket area.
- 33 mm tyre clearance, with 28 mm tubeless tyres fitted as standard.
| Liv claim (current Langma Advanced SL) | Figure |
|---|---|
| Frame weight | 667 g, described as "lightest on the WorldTour" |
| Stiffness-to-weight ratio | 11.98% improvement |
| Aerodynamic gain | 12.57 W |
| Integrated seatpost saving | Up to 45 g compared with standard composite posts |
| Maximum tyre clearance | 33 mm |
| SL 0 complete bike weight | 6.08 kg (13.07 lb), size S |
These are manufacturer claims. Liv does not state the test speed or conditions for the 12.57 W figure on the product page, so treat it as a comparison with the previous Langma rather than a number you can compare directly against other brands.
The Variant integrated seatpost

The biggest structural change on the SL is the Variant integrated seatpost. Liv says it is engineered specifically for road racers and reduces weight, improves aerodynamics and adds road-smoothing compliance. The topper offers -5 to +15 mm of offset, so riders can fine-tune saddle setback without swapping posts.
There are trade-offs with any integrated seatpost:
- Travel and packing. The seat mast is part of the frame, so the saddle height range depends on the topper and mast length rather than a long removable post.
- Resale and fit changes. Riders between sizes, or whose saddle height may change significantly, should confirm the fit with a dealer before buying.
- Simplicity. On the positive side, there is no round seatpost to slip or creak, and the offset adjustment covers most setback needs.
The Advanced Pro and Advanced Langmas use a conventional proprietary seatpost instead, which Liv says balances weight, aero and compliance with easier saddle adjustment.
Women's-specific sizing and geometry
Liv publishes five sizes, XXS to L, and scales the contact points with each size. The table below combines Liv's US SL 0 geometry (XS–L) with the XXS figures from Liv's Canadian SL 1 spec sheet.
| Size | Stack (mm) | Reach (mm) | Seat angle | Head angle | Wheelbase (mm) | Chainstay (mm) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| XXS | 499 | 364 | 75.0° | 70.0° | 970 | 405 |
| XS | 517 | 370 | 75.0° | 71.0° | 973 | 405 |
| S | 532 | 377 | 74.5° | 72.0° | 977 | 405 |
| M | 553 | 382 | 74.0° | 72.5° | 984 | 405 |
| L | 572 | 386 | 73.5° | 72.5° | 994 | 405 |
A few things stand out:
- Reach grows slowly. From XXS to L, reach increases by only 22 mm (364 to 386 mm), while stack rises by 73 mm. Most of the size change goes into height rather than length, which suits riders who want a race position without being stretched out.
- Steep seat angles on small sizes. XXS and XS use a 75.0° seat angle, steepening to 73.5° on the L.
- Short, constant chainstays. All sizes use 405 mm chainstays.
- Slacker head angles on small sizes. The XXS head angle is 70.0°, compared with 72.5° on the M and L. A slacker head angle is a common way to manage toe overlap on small frames; with the same 49 mm fork rake, it also means more trail (74 mm on the XXS sheet versus 58 mm on the M).
Cockpit and crank sizing

Liv fits size-specific bars and stems. The Liv Contact SLR handlebar has an 8-degree flared drop, and Liv quotes two widths for each size (for example 34/36 cm). Because of the flare, the drops are wider than the tops; check with your dealer which measurement each figure refers to.
| Size | Handlebar width (Liv listing) | Stem length |
|---|---|---|
| XXS | 34/36 cm | 80 mm |
| XS | 34/36 cm | 80 mm |
| S | 36/38 cm | 90 mm |
| M | 38/40 cm | 100 mm |
| L | 39/42 cm | 110 mm |
Crank lengths are also scaled, but Liv's regional sheets differ. The Canadian sheets list 160 mm for XXS, 165 mm for XS and S, 170 mm for M and 172.5 mm for L. The US SL 0 page lists 165 mm for XXS and XS, 170 mm for S and M, and 172.5 mm for L. Check the crank length on the exact bike you order, especially if you are between sizes.
Liv describes the handlebar's flat tops as having raised edges to help riders hold a stable aero position, and notes that the flare is meant to add control on sprints and descents.
The builds: SL 0 and SL 1

Both builds share the same Advanced SL frame and fork, integrated seatpost, OverDrive Aero steerer and 33 mm clearance. The differences are in the groupset, wheels and saddle.
| Spec | Langma Advanced SL 0 | Langma Advanced SL 1 |
|---|---|---|
| Groupset | SRAM RED AXS, 12-speed | Shimano Ultegra Di2, 12-speed |
| Chainrings | 35/48 with power meter | 36/52 with Giant Power Pro power meter |
| Cassette | 10-33 | 11-34 |
| Brakes | SRAM RED hydraulic, PaceLine X rotors 160/140 mm | Shimano Ultegra Di2 hydraulic, RT-CL800 rotors 160/140 mm |
| Wheels | CADEX Max 40 WheelSystem | Giant SLR 0 40 WheelSystem |
| Tyres | CADEX Race GC tubeless, 700x28c | CADEX Road Race GC tubeless, 700x28c |
| Saddle | CADEX AMP | Liv Alacra SLR |
| Listed weight | 6.08 kg (size S, US page) | Not listed on the sheet we checked |
| Price | US$12,750 MSRP (US, 2025 model); CA$15,899 (Canada) | CA$9,999 (Canada) |
Both builds come with a power meter as standard, which is unusual even at this level and adds real value for riders who train with power.
The SL 0 pairs SRAM RED AXS with CADEX Max 40 wheels, the same family of components Liv's team bikes use. Its 35/48 chainrings with a 10-33 cassette give a low gear that suits steep climbing.
The SL 1 uses Shimano Ultegra Di2 with a 36/52 crank and 11-34 cassette, giving a slightly wider spread at the top end. Its Giant SLR 0 40 wheels use carbon spokes and a tubeless system.
Prices and availability vary by market and model year, and US pricing for the SL 1 was not listed on Liv's US site when we checked. Ask a local Liv dealer for current pricing.
Who the Langma Advanced SL suits

A good fit if you:
- race road events or ride fast group rides and want a light, stiff, all-round race bike;
- want a frame designed around Liv's women-specific sizing, with smaller sizes (XXS and XS), narrow bars and short cranks available from the factory;
- climb a lot: a 6.08 kg complete bike (SL 0, size S) and a 10-33 cassette suit long climbs;
- want a power meter included without buying one separately;
- want room for 30–32 mm tyres on rougher roads, within the 33 mm maximum clearance.
Consider something else if you:
- want the cheapest route into the Langma platform: the Advanced Pro and Advanced series share the design language at lower prices, with an Advanced-grade frame;
- prefer an endurance position: Liv's Avail is designed for all-day comfort;
- want a dedicated aero race bike: Liv positions the EnviLiv as its sprinter's bike;
- may need large saddle-height changes or frequent travel packing, where an integrated seatpost is less flexible.
Buying and setup checklist
- Confirm the size with a dealer. Liv's geometry puts most of the size change into stack, so test both sizes if you are between them.
- Check crank length on the exact build, because Liv's regional sheets list different lengths for some sizes.
- Plan your saddle height before the seat mast is set up, as the integrated seatpost has a fixed range.
- Set tyre pressure for 28 mm tubeless, and consider wider tyres up to the 33 mm limit for rough roads.
- Pair the power meter with your bike computer and calibrate it before your first ride.

Final verdict
On paper, the Langma Advanced SL is one of the most complete women's-specific race bikes available. It has a light, aero-shaped frame with an integrated seatpost, a power meter on both builds, 33 mm tyre clearance and size-specific contact points down to an XXS frame. The SL 0 is the team-level choice at a team-level price. The SL 1 delivers the same frame with Shimano Ultegra Di2 at a lower price where it is sold. Riders on a tighter budget should look at the Advanced Pro, which keeps the SL-grade fork. Whichever you choose, a proper dealer fitting matters more than any spec-sheet number.
